Coleen Rooney left 'terrified' and desperate to 'move' after masked thugs attempted to burgle her home

Wayne Rooney's wife has apparently been living in fear since the shocking incident
Coleen Rooney has been left "terrified" after masked thugs tried to break into her home.

A gang of balaclava-wearing thugs tried to raid Wayne Rooney 's £6million mansion earlier this month - while he was playing in his own testimonial.

Police rushed to the star's huge Cheshire abode - which was empty at the time - after the burglars set off the top-of-the-range alarm system.

A source has claimed that while Coleen has been living in fear since the shocking incident took place, she is desperately trying to put on a brave face for her kids.

"Coleen is terrified. She can't stop replaying the scenario in her mind. She's devastated her family were targeted. However, she is staying strong and putting on a brave face for the boys," the insider told Closer.

The gorgeous star is apparently so scared that she's begged Wayne to put the luxury mansion on the market.

"She and Wayne have talked about moving but have decided to step up security. She's not sure she will ever feel safe again.

"But Wayne has reassured her he'll do everything to protect them," added the source.

Neighbours described the moment officers swooped on the hapless crooks as “like something out of an action film”.

One resident in the village of Prestbury, Cheshire, told The Sun: “Wayne has amazing security to make sure his wife Coleen and the kids are OK while he is away.

“It’s like a fortress. It was like something out of a movie with alarms shrieking and search lights flashing on.

“The police seemed to appear from nowhere. They were swarming all over the place.”

The Mirror has reached out to the couple's rep for comment.
