5 top officials sacked by President Buhari



The Buhari administration has made some major changes in government agencies, these changes have sometime come with restructuring and having to relieve some top officials of their duties.

 Since May 2015, when the President Buhari was inaugurated, here is a list of the top 5 officials sacked by the Buhari government:
 1. Former JAMB Boss, Professor Dibu Ojerinde

Dibu Ojerinde is a Nigerian professor of Tests and Measurement, educational administrator and was the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

A position he held for 9 years from 2007-2016, before he was sacked by the Buhari administration and replaced by Professor Ishaq Oloyede. Oloyede formally resumed as the new registrar of JAMB on Monday, August 8, 2016.


2. Former NNPC GMD, Ibe Kachikwu

Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu who was born on December 18, 1956 is the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources. He was removed as the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was replaced by Dr. Maikanti K. Baru on 4th of July, 2016.

3. Former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Sabundu Badeh

Alex Sabundu Badeh was born on November 7, 1957. He is a retired four star flag officer of the Nigerian Air force who served as the 18th Chief of Air Staff from October 4, 2012 – January 16, 2014.

He also served as the 15th Chief of Defence Staff of the armed forces of Nigeria from January 16, 2014 to July 13, 2015. he was removed by Buhari and replaced by Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin shortly after Badeh was removed.

4. Former Immigration boss, Martin Abeshi

Mr Kure Martin Abeshi is an indigene of Nasarawa State, in the north central zone of Nigeria. He has a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He joined the Nigerian Immigration Service in 1989 as an Assistant Comptroller. Over the years he grew in rank.

He was appointed by President Buhari on August 27, 2015 as the Comptroller-General of Immigration and was still sacked by Buhari on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. He was replaced by Muhammed Babandede, who is the interim Comptroller-General of Immigration.

5. Former AMCON boss, Mustafa Chike-Obi

Mr. Mustafa Chike-Obi served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Inc.

Mr. Chike-Obi who founded Madison Park Advisors, a financial service advisory and consulting firm in New Jersey, U.S.A, was sacked by President Buhari and replaced with Ahmed Lawan Kuru, on August 18, 2015.
