Manchester United Close To Pogba Deal

Manchester United’s ‘at any cost’ bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba appears to be back on track as Real Madrid president Florentino Perez rules out paying the player’s €125 million asking price.

Following the reports that the United deal had stalled due to a disagreement over Mino Raiola’s (Pogba’s agent) fee and the news that Zinedin Zidane had expressed an interest in the 23 year Frenchman, United fans began looking over their collective shoulders at perhaps another deal snatched from under their noses by Los Blancos


With an increasing sense of inevitability that the Spanish giants would wade into the deal, today, as reported by Marca, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has all but shot down any last ditch bid for Pogba.
While Manchester United manager José Mourinho and the Old Trafford board appear ready to pay whatever it takes to sign their former academy graduate, the La Liga side have taken a far more pragmatic approach.
Though Zidane is keen on the talented midfielder, he accepts the asking price has been blown into the realm of the ridiculous and is therefore happy to sit tight and only move if the price were to drop.
With the Champions League winners apparently bowing out, a potential banana skin for United has been removed from their path and now all that seems to be agreed is how Raiola’s enormous agent fee is paid
